Perfect Workout Headphones

Yesterday I received my Sennheiser MX75 in-ear headphones shown here:

I probably go through a pair of headphones every 2-3 months.  Because of this, I don’t spend too much money on them and so, they don’t last long. ..as you can see this is a downward spiral.  My problems ranged from poorly reinforced wires/connectors causing the sound to go in and out to getting a small electric shock in my ear.  Of course my most recent problem and probably the most common occurrence among workout headphone shoppers is finding a pair that don’t fall out of your ear during vigorous exercise.

I finally got fed up. I did some research and found these from Sennheiser.  The MX75 headphones are from their sport line and are sweat/water resistant, and extremely rugged.  The best feature is that they have an unique “twist-to-fit” design.  They contain a normal ear bud, but also another pad that fits in your outer ear.  The headphones come with a whole lot of adaptor pads to ensure the perfect fit.  I used them last night and not only are they perfectly comfortable, but they did not budge in my ear while running.  Now, only time will tell whether these will be functioning for longer than my usual 3 months, but so far they’re great and have solved all of my other problems.  The $43 price tag (from Amazon) is small for such a well designed product.

Some of you may be wondering how they sound.  I’m not a headphone elitist and was simply trying to solve the problems I mentioned so I won’t pretend to know the technical specifications of these headphones.  They don’t block out all ambient noise like ear canal buds (but I like that because when I’m in a crowded gym or walking to and from, I like to have some idea of what’s going on around me).  The bass sounds much better than other poorly fitting ear buds I’ve tried before.

Overall, this purchase was a wild success.  If you’re having similar problems, I strongly suggest you give them a try.  While the sport line is entirely neon green, Sennheiser also has style, and street lines that are a little easier on the eyes (however they may not boast the water resistant features or be as rugged).  All of the headphones have an innovative design and there are a lot of choices.  Happy Shopping!

Fire Deni Green Today!!

My personal vendetta against Deni Green since his unceremonious comments against the  Bears last week is going very well.  His team and his quarterback (who everyone has been praising since their almost-win against the best team in the league) is down 14-0 against the worst team in the NFL, the Oakland Raiders.  And no, this doesn’t mean that the Raiders are better than the Bears.  It simply means that the Cardinals played outside themselves last week and the Bears had a horrible game.

Deni Green’s security as the head coach has been tenuous due to the team’s poor performance for many years.  Hopefully all the speculation will be put to rest and he’ll get fired today!!!

Fixing My Razr

Almost since I got it, I’ve had a problem with the LCD screen on my Motorola Razr. It looks like there are specs of dust on it but they can’t be cleaned in any way. The dust has actually crept underneath the screen. It has been bothering me for months (and not just for cosmetic reasons). I have to hold it at just the right angle to read the screen because the dust catches light and creates a pretty bad glare.

After some searching, I found that I am not the only one with this problem and it has a very simple $8 fix. It involves ordering a new screen (only $3 from cnn.cn with $5 shipping) and replacing the old one that can easily be peeled off. For detailed instructions with pictures, see here.

Want It

Check out the new Reader by Sony.  The concept is similar to iPOD and iTunes but for books.  There’s an Connect store that has thousands of titles that you can download to the reader.  You can also view PDFs, JPEGs etc.  I think this is the perfect thing to have on the go.  Reviews say that the screen has amazing clarity and really is like reading on a page.

Pure Joy

Monday’s squeak-by win by the dominating Bears defense against the 1-5 Arizona Cardinals was surreal. In the days since, I’ve heard nothing but negativity from Chicagoans who are put off by the Bears’ demonstration of vulnerability.

Watching that game was the most exhilarating experience I can remember. I’m even more in love with the Bears and their determination when really put to the test. Just you wait. .Grossman, who incidentally really let me down since I started him on my fantasy team this week, will be back to normal after our bye week and we’ll continue to dominate. Even if we don’t. . this is our year. We’ll win it all even if we have to do it like the Steelers did last year with 8 straight wins on the road. Sore loser Arizona coach Deni Green said that the Bears are exactly what he thought they were and that the Cardinals let them off the hook.

Luckily, the coach of the worst franchise in NFL history will soon be forced to see the truth. The Bears aren’t just going to win the superbowl. This is the beginning of a dynasty.

My Favorite Tight End is Ben Watson

Watch Ben Watson tackle Champ Bailey after Tom Brady throws an interception in last year’s playoff game in Denver. In the video you can’t tell that Watson was clear across the field and ran much farther than Champ Bailey to catch up. 99 out of 100 times, this is a touchdown. Now that’s committment. The Patriots hang up pictures of great plays, but only from games they win. Coach Belichick says that if they did put up a picture of a play from a game they lost, it would be of that tackle.

The Colts Aren’t Going to the Superbowl
